What is the shelf life of the lemonades, syrups and ice lollies?

Accepted Answer

Elderflower, sage, lavender, mint and lemongrass-ginger have a shelf life of 2 years from production. Raspberry, lemon and strawberry have a shelf life of 1 year from production.

Do you need to store the syrups in the refrigerator before opening?

Accepted Answer

Our syrups are suitable for storage outside the refrigerator, in a cool dark place.

Do you need to store the syrups in the refrigerator after opening?

Accepted Answer

Since we do not use preservatives, it is important that the opening of the bottle remains clean. In that case, you can also store the bottle outside the refrigerator. For hospitality, the bottle can stand on the bar, for example with our pump.

You don't use concentrates or extracts. What does that actually mean?

Accepted Answer

Concentrates and extracts are heavily processed and refined. It is actually a "short-cut" for brands that do not have the means or ability to pick, macerate, sieve and mix the ingredients themselves. This means they have more residues and fewer nutritional benefits. We use a one-step process where plants we have hand-picked or harvested, or fruit we have hand-pressed or sieved, are carefully macerated (cold maceration) into a syrup.

Do you use added chemical preservatives, artificial colours and flavours or juice concentrates?

No! Only the ingredient gives the flavour. That gives our syrups the authentic taste.

Question 6

How is it possible that your products have a long shelf life?

Accepted Answer

Our syrups are pasteurised. This is a traditional way of preserving products, which means we heat the syrup to 84°C and then hot-fill the sachets or bottles.

Why do I sometimes see a cloudy layer at the neck of the syrup bottle?

Our syrups are made from fruit juice and pulp or plant flowers. These contain pollen, proteins and other natural components that end up in the syrup. Because we do not use additives to stabilise the syrups, you can sometimes see the sediments of pollen and other natural components. It is best to shake the bottle to mix all the components again.

Is Agropošta syrup vegan and gluten-free?

Absolutely. We do not use dairy or animal products and all components that enter our production are gluten-free. The production space is certified as vegan.

Question 9

The packaging of the sachets and ice lollies is made of plastic. What type of plastic?

Accepted Answer

This new material is made only from polyethylene and is therefore 100% recyclable plastic. Our first design seemed to feel like much less plastic but that was not the case. It involved multiple different layers of plastic with a white paint layer which made it NOT recyclable.

How is it best to freeze the ice lollies?

First shake well and then freeze horizontally so that the syrup does not go to one side of the ice lolly before it is frozen.
